As pastors, we understand that most people come the scriptures with questions, baggage, and expectations. Sometime this good, and sometimes not so much.  To your point i is it’s about context and applicability. One of the advantages to understanding the various styles and literary types of the NT is the reader gaining a deeper appreciation of the word of God and how it was divinely constructed to meet them where they were.
